Your first visit will feel more ordinary than you imagine.

The first thing most people notice is that nobody’s performing. Reception is calm, not staged. A regular might be telling their teacher about their week. Someone’s rolling out a mat they’ve never used before and trying to look like they know what they’re doing. It’s a room where both of those things are equally fine. See the studio →

Before You Arrive

There’s nothing complicated to prepare. Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move easily. Bring a bottle of water if you’d like. If you have your own mat, you’re welcome to bring it. If you don’t, we’ll happily provide everything you need.

The hardest part is usually deciding to come. Everything after that becomes much easier.

When You Arrive

We always recommend arriving a little early. It gives you time to settle in, meet your teacher and become familiar with the space without feeling rushed. You’ll be greeted warmly. If it’s your first visit, simply let us know — we’ll show you around, answer any questions and help you feel completely at home.

During Class

Nobody in the room is thinking about you as much as you think they are — they’re thinking about their own practice. The teacher might offer an adjustment or suggest a modification; that’s not correction, it’s guidance. First class or fiftieth, the job is just to be there. Rest whenever you need to. Ask questions whenever you’re unsure. The most important thing is simply being there.

Afterwards

Many people stay for a chat after class. Some head home feeling lighter than when they arrived. Others enjoy a cup of tea and a conversation. Friendships often begin here. There is never any pressure — only an open invitation.

During class

You can rest in Child’s Pose at any point.
No questions asked.

Nobody is watching you.
Everyone is focused on themselves.

You don’t need to look the part, feel ready, or have done yoga before. You don’t even need to know what style you want to try. Just book a class. We’ll figure the rest out together.

We’ll be waiting to welcome you.

Wear something comfortable. We provide the rest.

You don’t need any special equipment to start yoga. Here’s all you need to know.

Comfortable clothes

Leggings or joggers, a fitted top. Anything you can move in. We practise barefoot — no need for shoes on the mat.

Water

Bring a bottle. Yoga is gentle but you may still get warm, especially in a flowing class.

An open mind

The only thing that matters in your first class is that you show up. Everything else follows from there.

Nothing else — mats provided free

We provide mats at no charge. You’re welcome to bring your own if you already have one.

Will I fit in? Yes.

These are the questions first-time visitors ask most often. Nothing is too basic to ask.

Not at all. Flexibility is a result of yoga, not a requirement for it. Most of our regulars couldn’t touch their toes when they started. We meet you exactly where you are.

Your teacher will always offer easier options for every posture. You can also rest in Child’s Pose at any point — no explanation needed, no judgement from anyone in the room.

Comfortable clothes you can move in — leggings or joggers, a fitted top. Nothing special required. We practise barefoot, so no need for shoes on the mat.

No — mats are provided at no extra charge. You’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
